Wrong Uses of -ly
He stylishly insulted her (nonstandard).
He subtly insulted her (standard). Stylishly means in a fashionably elegant manner while subtly means in a clever and indirect way, in order to achieve something.
Conclusively, we have to keep learning (nonstandard).
In conclusion, we have to keep learning (standard). Conclusively means to talk in a decisive way that has the effect of proving a case; it does not mean to give or make a conclusion.
He came severally (nonstandard).
He came several times (standard). Severally means separately or individually; not several times: I will sue the company jointly and severally.
