KNOW HOW WORDS FUNCTION

The class of a word is determined by the function it performs in a sentence.

This round is over (NOUN). This is because it functions as a name.

The boat rounded the Island (VERB). This is because it performs an action.

I love round tables (ADJECTIVE). This is because it describes a noun.

He moves round every morning (ADVERB). This is because it describes a verb.

He works round the clock (PREPOSITION). This is because it shows the relationship between the pronoun “he” and the noun “clock”.

The part of speech of a word is mainly determined by the function it performs in a sentence. So, would you like to use any word as different parts of speech/word classes?
