My dad slaughters two rams (standard). To kill animals for food is to slaughter them.
Today is Eid al-Fitr (nonstandard).
Today is Eid al-Kabir (standard). The feast marking Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son is Eid al-kabir while that marking the end of Ramadan is Eid al-Fitr.
My landlord went to Mecca (nonstandard).
My landlord went on Hajj (standard).
My landlord went on pilgrimage to Mecca (standard).The journey to Mecca as an act of worship is pilgrimage or Hajj.

Thanks, Dr. Gab. But it’s “Eidul-adha” (the festival of sacrifice or slaughtering) not “Eid al-kabir” (the big festival). In Islam, no Eid (festival) is considered small.
