HASTE or HURRY?
The man was in ~a haste~ when I saw him (nonstandard).
The man was in haste when I saw him (standard).
The man was ~in hurry~ when I saw him (nonstandard).
The man was in a hurry when I saw him (standard).
Be in the know that “haste” and “hurry” are similar in their uses but the former should not be preceded by an article while the latter attracts an article.
