GRAMMATICAL ETIQUETTE

  1. When you acknowledge a person’s gratitude, say: don’t mention it (not, don’t mention).
  2. When you are asked if you want something and you do, say: yes, please (not, yes, thanks).
  3. When you are asked if you want something and you don’t, say: no, thanks (not, no please).
  4. When you wish to express what you are not so sure about, say: correct me if I’m wrong (not, I stand to be corrected).
  5. When you admit that what you have said or done was wrong, say: I stand corrected (not, I accept).
