CONFUSING ENGLISH
We have to work ~hand in hand~ to get this work done (nonstandard).
We have to work hand in glove to get the work done (standard). To work in close collusion or association is to work hand in glove. Note that two persons work hand in hand when they are holding each other as a sign of affection. Again, two things go hand in hand if they happen the same time:
Prosperity goes hand in hand with investment.
You have to ~buckle up~ to be successful in life (nonstandard).
You have to buckle down to be successful in life (standard). To tackle a task with determination is to buckle down while buckle up mean tovfasten one’s seat belt in a vehicle or aircraft.
