Common Errors

I met ~a human resource personnel~ (nonstandard).
I met a human resource official/officer (standard). Personnel means all of the people employed in an organisation: There was a training for the personnel .

That man is our ~staff~ (nonstandard).
That man is one of our staff (standard).
That man is a staffer (standard).
We have many ~staffs~ (nonstandard). Note that staff refers to all of the workers in an organisation while staffer is one member of staff.
