AID or AIDE?
Some organisations have pledged millions of naira in ~aide~ (nonstandard).
Some organisations have pledged millions of naira in *aid* (standard).
Aid is money, equipment, or services that are provided for people, countries, or organisations who need them but cannot provide them for themselves. It can also be a verb:
The country will *aid* the refugees. ✅
I know a close ~aid~ to the president (nonstandard).
I know a close *aide* to the president (standard).
An aide is an assistant to someone who has an important job, especially in government or in the armed forces.
