Grind, Ground, Grounded
Grind is a present tense verb which means to reduce to powder or small fragments by friction:
I want to ground pepper. ✖️

Ground is the past tense of grind when it means to reduce to small fragments:
I’ve grounded the pepper. ✖️
I’ve ground the pepper. ✔️
Ground can also be a present tense verb which means to prohibit or prevent someone from going out as a punishment and the past tense is grounded:

Ground can also be used as an adjective before nouns to say that something has been reduced to small pieces.
