8. Discuss – Discuss doesn’t attract the preposition ‘about’: We are discussing about the ASUU strike. We are discussing the ASUU strike. However, the noun discussion can attract the preposition ‘on’: We had a discussion on the effect of inflation in developing countries.
9. Stress – It does not take the preposition ‘on’: My boss stressed on the need to come early. My boss stressed the need to come early.
