TAG QUESTION

4. Tag Question: A tag question is a short question attached to a statement for the purpose of clarification.
He is here. Isn’t he?
The following rules should be followed in the formation of tag questions:
1. A positive sentence takes a negative tag and a negative sentence takes a positive tag. Note that a sentence is negative in this context when it contains negating words such as ” no”, “not”, “never”.

2. When there is an auxiliary verb in a sentence (an auxiliary verb is a verb that helps the main verb), the auxiliary verb forms the tag:
The man is here. Isn’t he? ✔️
They are not prepared. Are they? ✔️

One will like to know what happens when there is no auxiliary verb in a sentence. That takes us to the next rule
