Fireworks are small objects that are lit to entertain people on special occasions. Note that the word is used without an s as an adjective:

She was evidently in high *spirits* (standard).
Your spirits are your feelings at a particular time, especially feelings of happiness or unhappiness.
Spirits are also strong alcoholic drinks such as whisky and gin:
He takes beers but he prefers ~spirit~. ❌
He takes beers but he prefers *spirits*. ✅
