HORN or HONK?
Why do you have to ~horn~ regularly (nonstandard)?
Why do you have to *honk* regularly (standard)?
If you honk the horn of a vehicle or if the horn honks, you make the horn produce a short loud sound. It can also be used as a noun:
He gave us a *honk* on his horn. ✅
He sounded the car ~honk~ (nonstandard).
He sounded the car *horn* (standard).
On a vehicle such as a car, the horn is the device that makes a loud noise as a signal or warning.
