COMPLEX IRREGULAR VERBS
I have ~seeked~ permission from my boss (nonstandard).
I have *sought* permission from my boss (standard).
He has not ~drank~ water in a while (nonstandard).
He has not *drunk* water in a while (standard).
The company has ~wind down~ since last year (nonstandard).
The company has *wound down* since last year (standard).
Note that wound is pronounced as /waund/ when used in the sense above and it is pronounced as /wu:nd/ when used to mean a damaged area of the body.
