Comparison of Adjectives
He is ~more taller~ than the other boy (nonstandard).
He is *taller* than the other boy (standard).
Avoid the use of double comparison such as “more taller” and “more better”.
We were not ~much~ in the class today (nonstandard).
We were not *many* in the class today (standard).
“Much” is used with uncountable nouns like salt: Don’t add *much* salt to the soup. ✅
Note that “much more” can be used to emphasise a point:
He finds Chemistry *much more* difficult than other subjects. ✅
You can also use the expression “much too much” to mean a far larger amount of something than you want or need:
You’ve had *much too much* drink to drive. ✅
