BrE prefers the use of ‘got’ as the past tense and past participle of ‘get’ while the form ‘gotten’ is very common in AmE
- I’ve got a job (BrE); I’ve gotten a job (AmE)
- BrE favours the irregular form of lexical verbs(learn-learnt, dream-dreamt) while AmE uses mainly the regular form(learn-learned, dream-dreamed)
- Prepositions: British athletes play in a team; American athletes play on a team
