AIDE or AID?

She is an ~aid~ to the vice chancellor (nonstandard).
She is an *aide* to the vice chancellor (standard).
An aide is an assistant to someone who has an important job, especially in government or in the armed forces.

She pledged billions of Naira in ~aide~ (nonstandard).
She pledged billions of Naira in *aid* (standard).
Aid is money, equipment, or services that are provided for people, countries, or organisations who need them but cannot provide them for themselves.
