BUCKLE UP or BUCKLE DOWN?
I think we can win if we all just ~buckle up~ (nonstandard).
I think we all can win if we just *buckle down* (standard).
To buckle down means to get serious, stop being distracted, and start working very hard on a task or goal.
I will not allow you in my car if you wouldn’t ~buckle down~ (nonstandard).
I wouldn’t allow you in my car if you wouldn’t *buckle up* (standard).
Buckle up” is a phrasal verb that literally means to fasten your seat belt in a car or airplane.
