I was not ~chanced~ to see him yesterday (Popular Nigerian English).
I did not have *the chance* to see him yesterday (Standard English).
In Standard English, chance as a verb does not mean to have the opportunity to do something. It means to take a risk by doing something:
She may not find out but I don’t want to *chance* it. ✅
He likes to have ~gators~ on his trousers (Popular Nigerian English).
He likes to have *creases* on his trousers (Standard English).
A line on cloth or paper where it has been folded or crushed is a crease.
A gator is a large reptile with short legs, a long tail, and very powerful jaws. It is another word for alligator.
*Gators* are deadly animals. ✅
