SLEEP OFF or FALL ASLEEP?
She ~slept off~ during the conversation (nonstandard).
She *dozed off/fell asleep* during the conversation (standard).
If you doze off, you fall into a light sleep, especially during the daytime. You can also say “nod off”, “drop off” or “fall asleep”.
If you *sleep off* the effects of too much travelling, drink, or food, you recover from it by sleeping:
My niece has to sleep of the stress of a long journey. ✅
I think you should sleep off your hangover. ✅
