COLLIDE or COLLUDE?
The trains ~colluded~ head-on just before the bridge (nonstandard).
The trains *collided* head-on just before the bridge (standard).
If two or more moving people or objects collide, they crash into one another. If a moving person or object collides with a person or object that is not moving, they crash into them.
The manager ~collided~ with some staff members to defraud the company (nonstandard).
The manager *colluded* with some staff members to defraud the company (standard).
If one person colludes with another, they co-operate with them secretly or illegally.
