ADVICE or ADVISE?
You have to ~advice~ the young man (nonstandard).
You have to *advise* the young man (standard).
“Advise” is a verb and should be used when the action is being performed.
We need to give them ~advise~ on how to do it (nonstandard).
We need to give them *advice* on how to do it (standard).
The noun form of “advise” is advice. Note too that “advice” should not be used with “an”:
I gave him ~an advice~ (nonstandard).
I gave him *advice* (standard).
I gave him *a piece of advice* (standard).
