FATEFUL or FAITHFUL?

He was alone on that ~faithful~ day (nonstandard).
He was alone on that *fateful* day (standard).
If an action or a time when something happened is described as fateful, it is considered to have an important, and often very bad, effect on future events.

She has been ~fateful~ to her promise to support me (nonstandard).
She has been *faithful* to her promise to support me (standard).
Someone who is faithful to a person, organisation, idea, or activity remains firm in their belief in them or support for them.
