The children can’t wait to see ~Santa Clause~ (nonstandard).
The children can’t wait to see Santa Claus (standard). Note that the Claus is spelt without an s and the word is treated as a proper noun; hence, it should be capitalised always.
Have you drawn your ~new year~ resolution (nonstandard)?
Have you drawn your New Year’s resolution (standard)? A promise to do something differently in the new year is a New Year’s resolution and should be in the capital letter.
