I know about the preservation of endangered species in zoos, botanical gardens, and the likes (nonstandard).
I know about the preservation of endangered species in zoos, botanical gardens, and the like (standard). When you mean to say “and similar things”, it is simply expressed as: and the like.

Don’t take life too seriously; live and let’s live (nonstandard).
Don’t take life too seriously; live and let live (standard). To tolerate the opinions and behaviour of others so that they will similarly tolerate your own is expressed as: live and let live.

I need to get some stuffs today (nonstandard).
I need to get some stuff today (standard). Articles, or activities of a specified or indeterminate kind are called stuff.
