Together or Separately?
I can not come tomorrow (nonstandard).
I cannot come tomorrow (standard). However, “can not” will be used when presenting two sides of an issue: GAB’s lessons can not only make you fluent, but also make you a grammarian.
May be you’re not ready for now (nonstandard).
Maybe you’re not ready for now (standard). Maybe is written together when used to express probability but written separately as part of a verb: I can not dance to save my life.
Maybe if you read the daily lessons carefully, you may be a tutor of English language to your children except you cannot communicate fluently and that can not only be ridiculous but also embarrassing.
