MIND THE “D”
She has a secured job (nonstandard).
She has a secure job (standard). When a thing is certain to remain safe and unthreatened, it is said to be secure. The word can, however, attract “d” as a verb: He has secured a major contract.
I need a matured person to handle it (nonstandard).
I need a mature person to handle this (standard).
To be fully developed physically; full-grown is to be mature. This word, too, can attract “d” when used as a verb. He has really matured.
