PLAQUE or PLAGUE?
A plaque is an ornamental tablet, typically of metal, porcelain, or wood, that is fixed to a wall or other surface in commemoration of a person or event.
He has many plagues in his office (wrong).
He has many plaques in his office (right).
Note: The ‘a’ in plaque is pronounced like the ‘a’ in past.
Plague is a contagious bacterial disease characterised by fever and delirium, typically with the formation of buboes ( bubonic plague ) and sometimes infection of the lungs ( pneumonic plague ).
He’s suffering from a plaque (wrong).
He’s suffering from a plague (right).
