The Grammar of Etiquette
Do you mean to be open to corrections? Say CORRECT ME IF I’M WRONG (not, I stand to be corrected). If you accept the correction afterwards, then say I STAND CORRECTED.
When you mean to say that a person should not bother to thank you, the expression is DON’T MENTION IT (not just, don’t mention).
When you’re asked if you want or care for something, you say YES, PLEASE if you want it and say NO, THANKS if you do not want it.
